Tenley Gummelt, M.A., LPC

Tenley is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor. With a warm and non-judgmental approach, she aims to create a supportive environment for her clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her ultimate goal is for every individual she works with to feel truly seen and known, and to experience freedom and healing.

Drawing from her training and experience, Tenley helps her clients gain insight into themselves and how past experiences may be impacting their present circumstances. She is committed to guiding them through the process of understanding their emotions and behaviors, empowering them to make positive changes in their lives.

Central to Tenley's practice is her desire to restore peace and revive hope in the lives of her clients. Whether working with adolescents or adults of any age, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting. Tenley integrates her faith into her counseling, and while she recognizes its significance in her own life, she respects the diverse spiritual beliefs of her clients and meets each client wherever they may be spiritually. 

Tenley has a diverse background, having worked in various settings including schools, hospitals, and private practice. Throughout her career, she has supported clients facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, shame, grief, family conflict, boundaries, women’s issues, and life transitions. Her holistic approach addresses the emotional, relational and behavioral aspects of these issues, guiding clients toward healing and growth.

Tenley is a native and proud Texan, growing up in and spending the majority of her life in DFW. She ventured down to Waco while she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in French from Baylor University. Later, she obtained her Master's degree in Christian Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Outside of her work, Tenley finds joy in her family life, cherishing moments spent with her husband of over ten years and their two young children. She is an avid sports fan, with a special passion for Baylor football. Through her professional and personal endeavors, Tenley is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
